VACOMASS® flow meters are based on the principle of thermal dispersion. VACOMASS measures directly the mass flow or the air flow at standard conditions, independent of the temperature and pressure of the medium. Temperature compensation is a standard feature.
VACOMASS® flow meters are remote transmitters for measuring aeration air at temperatures up to 1300oC and pressures up to 10 bar(a).
The dynamic response of the system is ideal for monitoring, totalization and control. Constant accuracy is easily maintained over a measurement span of 1:100. Repeatability is better than ±0.15% of the measured value.
Typical installation locations are:
- Downstream of the blowers for efficiency monitoring in ongoing operation and long-term tracking
- On header pipes to individual aeration basins in order to detect and reduce any uneven distribution of wastewater
- On branch lines / drop pipes for direct determination of the oxygen supply to an aerated basin or an aerated zone
All field transmitters of the COMBIMASS® series apply thermal dispersion technology in order to measure directly the normal volumentric or gas mass flow, regardless of the operating pressure and temperature of the medium.
All flowmeter get a calibration in the Binder CAMASS® Calibration Lab taking process conditions like piping, flow direction, pressure, temperature and gas composition into consideration. This guarantees a high accuracy of the flowmeter.
